There are a number of important steps that you must do in order to make an application to AWE:

AWE Return applicants who participated with AWE in 2008 should follow the instructions within the Return Applicant Pack that will be available for collection from your AWE Representative in October/November.

• You have to live or be able to travel to one of the participating countries. To view these countries, please, click here
• If you do not already have an AWE Application Brochure, contact your nearest AWE Representative or you can download one from here.
• Carefully read the AWE literature and the information on this web to help you decide which AWE Programme you would be best suited to. If you need help, discuss your application with your AWE Representative
• Contact the people who you are going to ask to provide you with a Reference. The AWE Reference Form was included in your AWE Application Pack. If you need more, you may make copies, ask your AWE Representative or download from here. You will need to submit 2 references to your Representative.
• If a US employer has offered you a summer position, you must visit the section 'Application online/Documents' and complete 'Self-Arranged applicant Employment Form' to inform us about your employer. Once this form is completed, your employer will receive an email from AWE and will be instructed how to complete online AWE Employment Agreement and return the AWE Employment Agreement to our U.S. Office. • Complete the AWE 2008 Programme Application on-line in the section 'Application online/Documents' at this webpage. Follow the instructions on-line and remember to answer all questions honestly and provide as much detail as possible. Do not forget to upload your passport-type photograph to the application on-line. If you complete the application on-line, save it and in case of any questions, contact your local AWE representative. Your completed application will be stored in our computer.
• When you have completed your AWE 2008 Programme Application and have 2 references, a copy of the 'personal details' page from the International Passport you intend to use when travelling to the U.S. and if you are a student with a proof of your registration for the current semester, contact your AWE Representative to arrange a meeting/interview.
• You must also have sufficient funds to pay your Agency Fee (Contact your local AWE Representative for the agency fee) and the AWE First Deposit (UK£100/US$200) which is payable at interview.
• At the interview with your AWE Representative, your application will be discussed and revised if needed and the documents that you have provided reviewed. Your AWE Representative will tell you if your application is acceptable. By signing the Programme Application you agree to the AWE Terms & Conditionswhich are a part of AWE Application Brochure
• If your application is acceptable and you have successfully attended one-to-one interview to finally determine your suitability for one of our programmes, you will be required to pay your Agency Fee and your AWE First Deposit. You must realise that the full outstanding fees will become payable within 10 days of accepting AWE Offer of Placement Letter.
• Your AWE Representative will advise if there is to be a Recruitment Fair in your Country and will discuss if it would be beneficial for you to attend.
• Your completed application will be submitted to AWE for review soon after either your interview or the Recruitment Fair. The decision concerning the acceptance of your application for possible placement will be made by AWE and your AWE Representative will be notified. You will be able to check the status and progress of your application,your personal details and placement status by clicking on Participant Log-In
• Once your application has been accepted, you must make arrangements to obtain a Police Report/Criminal Record Check. When you receive that document, it must be translated into English and given to your AWE Representative who will confirm it's validity and pass it to AWE on your behalf. Your AWE Representative may be able to assist with the translation.
• You will also need to provide a satisfactory Medical Summary Report, using the AWE Medical Summary Form that was included in your AWE Application Brochure. Your Representative can provide you with an additional copy or you can download it from here. The completed Medical Summary must be given to your AWE Representative as soon as possible after you have accepted a placement. It is your decision if you wish to have this form completed before you have been offered and accepted a placement.
• You should keep in close contact with your AWE Representative from the time of application until you depart for the U.S. Your AWE representative will inform you about all necessary steps to be taken and will pass all information on to you. Also, if you wish to make any changes to your application, you will need to contact your Representative who will inform AWE immediately where the requested changes will be made.
• Read your 'Welcome letter' which you received from your AWE Representative after the interview carefully and keep it in a safe place for the whole time your application will be active together with the AWEID number which will be assigned to you by your Representative after you have successfully passed the interview. This AWEID number and your name will serve you to enter your 'On-line Application Status' on the web which will be updated periodically.

AWE has appointed a team of fully trained Representatives who can answer questions on all aspects of the various AWE Programmes and provide useful information on visa documentation and transportation. The AWE Representatives provide professional coordination of your application from your initial enquiry until you return home after an 'AWEsome' summer.

If your country is not listed below or you cannot travel to one of the listed countries - AWE will be unable to consider your application.
